        Personally, I'd prefer to just pay the bill.

        While the income from tips is often low &amp; unstable, bosses will
        still use them to refuse salary increases, health insurance upgrades,
        etc.
        Therefore, tipping destroys the power of employees during salary &amp;
        benefits negotiations.

        folklore?
